Founded in 2003 by Gordon Duffy-McGhie and Rob Bullard as Simian Features, the company draws inspiration from classic literature to create original solo performance. Appearances at the Edinburgh and Prague Fringe Festivals, include "Red Peter" (after Kafka), "Requiem for Adam" (after Twain), and "A Dog’s Heart" (after Bulgakov). 

A pivotal collaboration with producer Mark Lebrow led to the formation of a new company - Perfect Fools - expanding the company’s reach and repertoire. This new partnership enabled further tours of "A Dog’s Heart" and Tim Crouch’s "I, Malvolio" to arts centres and studio theatres across northern England, with performances at venues such as The Theatre by the Lake (Keswick), Alnwick Playhouse, and Queen’s Hall (Hexham).
