THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE COMPANY

Perfect Fools believe that there are a number of key elements that fuse together to make a truly creative school.

Firstly, we aim to help schools create a shared school vision that sets out a philosophy and direction for the school. This shouldn't be a dead document, a series of bullet points that are drafted, placed on the school website and forgotten about. The shared school vision should be alive, vibrant and above all manifest it's in the day to day running of the school.

The second key element that we advocate is to stretch the teaching practice and the learning of the pupils by developing a more creative approach to the curriculum. We help school to embed a cross curricular approach in the classroom making learning immediate, relevant, challenging and fun. To help us achieve this we've created our own approach drawing on techniques from the world of drama, improvisation, business theory, Philosophy for Children and renowned experts in the field of educational theory.

As part of developing a creative curriculum it's also important to looking at the space in which learning takes place. We're keen to make classrooms more effective, playful spaces and to link learning with the outdoors. An effective classroom is one that encourages curiosity, challenges assumptions and gives pupils permission to take risks. It's certainly not just four walls, a few desks and a display.

The next element that goes into making a creative school is the way we assess pupils' attainment. Perfect Fools believe the best way forward is to create a language for learning that is shared by all. Through working in this way we begin to open a valuable dialogue between teachers and pupils about what it means to learn and the impact that a creative classroom can have on extending everyone's skills and knowledge.

Building a creative school takes time; it's a journey for all involved. If you'd like to work alongside Perfect Fools to make some fundamental changes, to enhance the learning that takes place in the classroom and to think more creatively about what happens in your school on a daily basis then please contact us. We look forward to learning more about learning - together.
